About Us

The instructors at Blue Water Bujinkan are all students first.  Each are certified members of the Shidoshi Kai (Teacher’s Guild).

Sean O’Brien
Sean (Shidoshi) began training in the Bujinkan in 2008 under Gabe Logan (Bujinkan of the Upper Peninsula, Michigan).  In 2015, he passed his Godan test at the Honbu Dojo under Daishihan Darren Horvath.  He has visited Japan multiple times to train with Hatsumi Sensei and the Japanese shihan. He works at Wayne State University with a doctorate in history.

Genevieve Prange
Genevieve (Shidoshi) began training in the Bujinkan in 2008 under Gabe Logan (Bujinkan of the Upper Peninsula, Michigan).  In 2015, she passed her Godan test at the Ayase Budokan in Japan under Soke Yukio Noguchi.  When Genevieve isn’t hitting Sean with a sword, she spends her time as a refashionista and museum consultant.

Andrew Webb
Andy (Shidoshi) began training in th Bujinkan in 2014 under Sean and Genevieve. In 2018, Andy passed his godan test at the Honbu Dojo in Japan under Daishihan Phil Legare.
